I am not entering the sweepstakes survey, but I would like to pass it along. I am grateful for the service I received from an individual in the garden department at Home Depot. I had purchased 12 Encore Azaleas on March 20, 2023. I proceeded to plant them that spring. They fared well (adequate water, nutrient-rich soil) until the last week of September. Almost overnight, to my untrained eye, all 12 appeared to be dead. I was told by neighbours and lawn care workers that, most likely, they were dead. However, it was suggested I give the plants until the middle of March 2024 to see if they can be resurrected. In the meantime, I asked the garden department (Dec. 2023) if the azaleas were, in fact, dead; they could be replaced with new plants for up to one year (2024). The kind and helpful employee who assisted me was Christian, who had just transferred from another department and needed to become more familiar with the policy. He gave me his private number and said he would investigate if & how to get reimbursed. On March 20, the plants had not revived, and I took one as an example to Christian. He checked with his superior, and I was able to replace the plants with new ones. At every step of the process, I observed Christian going out of his way to be helpful. I am so grateful for him making it so easy. I do not generally give glowing recommendations, but I feel that Christian went above and beyond to help me with this unfortunate incident with the azaleas. My gratitude goes out to Home Depot for hiring such competent and kind employees like Christian. Dr. Ralph E Carson.
